Inspiration and Creation

The Easy Part: Finding Beauty in Springtime Central Park

As a devoted fan of William Morris's elaborate nature-inspired patterns such as The Strawberry Thief, I wanted to create a Central Park homage. Capturing all the natural and architectural elements of the centuries-old city treasure involved a short subway trip uptown for me, and many rapturous hours on several freezing April days taking many, MANY photos around the park.

Designing the Print

Using editing software, I isolated elements from my photos like flowers, birds, and the many stone sculptures, some dating back to the 1800s, that adorn the park. I then arranged them in a fabric pattern for my scarves.

Keeping it Luxe and Locally Made

This exclusive print is digitally printed on silk/cotton fabric. This luxurious fabric blend perfectly combines the glossy softness of silk with the comfort and warmth of cotton. And as with all CVD products, each scarf is handmade in New York.
